RAIL PASSENGERS CONGRATULATES FRA ADMINISTRATOR AMIT BOSE
Washington, D.C. – Rail Passengers' CEO Jim Mathews welcomed the Senate's long-awaited confirmation of Amit Bose to serve as the 15th Administrator of the Federal Railroad Administration.
"Confirming Amit Bose to lead FRA during this historic time in U.S. rail history reflects serious intent to put the best people in place at a time when Americans across the political spectrum and their elected representatives have broadly agreed that the time has come to move our rail policy forward to benefit railroads, operators, shippers and passengers," said Jim Mathews, President & CEO of the Rail Passengers Association in Washington, DC. "For several years now, thoughtful Representatives and Senators from both parties have helped to advance a broader view of transportation challenges and the economic opportunities that come along with them, a view that took shape in the new Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. Mr. Bose fits well into that mold. We look forward to working with him and his team to build a safe, modern, reliable rail network that successfully and safely produces benefits for host railroads, shippers, operators, and passengers throughout the U.S. "
"From his time as a legislative aide on Capitol Hill to today in service at the FRA, Bose offers strong and broad qualifications suited to this unique moment in rail policy history. Most recently at consultants HNTB before rejoining FRA as Deputy at the outset of the Biden Administration, Bose also served in the FRA chief counsel’s office and boasts 16 years of public-sector experience spanning the legislature, the FRA, the U.S. DOT, New Jersey DOT, and New Jersey Transit. He has invested significant time and developed meaningful expertise in some of the most critical projects in recent memory – the Northeast Corridor Gateway program, the California High-Speed Rail Project, the NEC Future effort, Southeast Passenger Rail, and the Build America Bureau."
