PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS:
- A representative from CDOT to talk about the progress of passenger rail projects in that state has been invited.
- “Lessons from the Montrealer, Vermonter and Ethan Allen” by Carl Fowler
- Reports on Transit and Rail in the Northeast from Council Members
- Passenger Rail from a National Perspective including Amtrak Initiatives, Federal Funding & Surface Transportation Program Reauthorization,
Registration will begin at 11:00 AM with the program beginning around 11:30 AM. The meal will be served at 12:00 Noon. It is a hot buffet with choice of entrees, sides, coffee & tea plus dessert. The official program will conclude by 3:30 P.M. This meeting is open to all interested parties.
The restaurant is located one block from the New London Train Station. From Boston: Northeast Regional 161 departs Boston South Station at 9:40 AM and arrives at New London at 11:13 A.M. From New York City: Northeast Regional Train 150 arrives at New London at 9:31 AM (For further directions see below).
There is free parking at the Hotel.
Registration Levels:
Early/Online Regular Attendee Registration (Per Person): $36.00 if paid in full by June 12, 2021
Late/In-Person Attendee Registration (Per Person): $40.00 if paid after June 12, 2021 (on site)

Please note because of the current virus, the National Office is unstaffed and therefore we can not accept payments mailed to the office. However if you are paying full price at the door, we will accept cash in addition to checks.

From New London Station:
Go out the door of the Station away from the tracks (west), Go straight up State Street. Turn right onto Eugene O’Neill Drive. Turn left at Governor Winthrop Boulevard. The Holiday Inn is approximately 300 ft. on your right.
From Boston and Rhode Island:
Take I-95 southbound to exit 84 S-N-E. Merge CT 32 south. Continue on Eugene O’Neill Drive south. Turn Right on Governor Winthrop Boulevard. Hotel is on your right. Free Parking. Use the banquet door in rear of hotel.
From New York and Western Connecticut:
Take I-95 northbound to exit 83 towards downtown New London. Merge South Frontage Road. Continue on Huntington Street south. Left on Federal Street and go two blocks. Rear entrance to Hotel on your right. If not familiar with the city, follow Federal Street as it becomes Union until reaching Gov. Winthrop Blvd, turn right. Hotel on your right. Free Parking. Use the banquet door in rear of hotel.
From Worcester and Central Massachusetts:
Take I-395 South to exit 5. This puts you onto CT 32 south. Continue on Eugene O’Neill Drive south. Turn Right on Governor Winthrop Boulevard. Hotel is on your right. Free Parking. Use the banquet door in rear of hotel.

The past couple years have indeed been difficult for Amtrak onboard service staff – coping with furloughs and job insecurity, adapting to changing protocols and services, not to mention the unfortunate events such as a tragic derailment and a fatal shooting.
